About Scream 6:

An unnamed Scream sequel probably being announced as scream 6 is an upcoming American horror movie that is being produced by Kevin Williamson and is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and produced by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Scream 6 will be the sixth movie in the Scream series and the direct continuation of Scream (2022).

Ghostface reappears once more. Gale Weathers and the gang are back for more frights in scream 6 following the success of the most recent Scream movie.

A forthcoming horror movie is called Scream 6, the movie is the sixth entry in the Scream franchise and a follow-up to Scream (2022). On March 31, 2023, Paramount Pictures is scheduled to release it.

The plot of Scream 6:

By May, the movie’s storyline was beginning to take place outside of Woodsboro. The movie will instead be set in New York City. In June, Ortega stated that the movie Ghostface will be more “aggressive and vicious” than in other installments.

Some believe that as the fifth movie was a “requel” to the first Scream movie, the sixth movie should naturally come after Scream. If so, Sam, Tara’s elder sister, and the previous babysitter will likely be nearby to protect the twins when they head off to college.

What does that mean for Gale and Sidney now? It’s difficult to say now that Campbell won’t be coming back. Although Cox is almost surely returning and Panettiere is officially back in the picture, I wouldn’t be shocked if Gale suffers the same fate that Dewey did in the last film, leaving Kirby to serve as Sam and the other characters’ tutor.

Jenna Ortega stated in her ET interview that she has seen a portion of the screenplay and that this time around, Ghostface is much more “intimidating.”

The filming of Scream 6:

Project X Entertainment’s producers Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak started filming scream 6 on June 9 in Montreal, Canada. Chad Villella, Cathy Konrad, Marianne Maddalena, and Williamson will serve as executive producers. Initial plans were for the production to start on June 6. While the movie’s official title was still unknown as of July 2022, production records showed that the working title was “Blackmore,” and set images showed that Scream II was also a working title.

The development and production of Scream 6:

Neve Campbell, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, David Arquette, and Tyler Gillett showed interest in producing more episodes of the series in January 2022. Gale Weathers would play the lead role in Scream 6 and the plot will center on her relationship with Dewey Riley. While promoting Shining Vale, Courteney Cox would later indicate interest in a sequel. On February 3, 2022, Spyglass Media Group gave the go-ahead for the sixth movie.

James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick would once again write the script, while Radio Silence’s Olpin and Gillett would once again direct. By the month’s end, Campbell received a call asking her to come back for the picture. Cox received the script the next month and was contacted about playing the same part again. The sixth movie’s release date was slated for March 31, 2023, and also in March 2022.
