For over 30 years, Maestro has followed the career of Leonard Bernstein, conductor and composer of West Side Story and The Waterfront, and his marriage to Chilean-born actress Felicia Montealegre.
The plot of Maestro Movie 2023:
Maestro is a biographical drama about the life of Leonard Bernstein. Bradley Cooper will play the famous composer who spent the last 30 years of his life battling Alzheimer’s disease. Carey Mulligan will play his wife and the film will show her struggle to care for him. Jeremy Strong will play the composer’s longtime friend and conductor John Gruen. Maya Hawke will play the composer’s daughter Jamie Bernstein. Sarah Silverman will play the composer’s mother Shirley Bernstein. Matt Bomer is expected to play the composer’s brother Alexander Bernstein. William Hill will play composer Joseph. Oscar Pavló is expected to play composer Claudia Arrau and Mallory Portnoy will play composer Betty Comden.

Production of Maestro Movie 2023:
We previously reported that filming is set to begin in April 2021, but for reasons unknown, filming has been delayed. It was revealed that pre-production moved to film on October 12, 2012. It has been pushed back to April again, allowing us to confirm a new production sheet that says Maestro plans to begin filming in May 2022.
Filming will begin on May 21st in Tanglewood, Massachusetts, and is set to finish on July 12th, 2022.
Once filming in Massachusetts is completed, production will move to New York for an unspecified period of time until filming begins in Italy in September 2022. No word has been announced as to when filming is scheduled to take place in London, England.
Several companies are said to be working on Maestro, including A collaboration between Sikelia Productions, Fred Berner Films, and Amblin Entertainment.
Maestro Movie 2023 Release Date:
Filming doesn’t start until the summer, so it’s highly unlikely Maestro will start on Netflix in 2022. Given the subject matter, it could very well be one of the films Netflix releases for its late 2023 awards season. Of course, until the camera rolls, it’s all speculation.
