Avatar 2: The Way of Water

The much-awaited movie; Avatar 2: The Way of Water, also the much-delayed Avatar 2 will finally hit theaters this December 16, 2022. That’s 13 years after Avatar, and eight years after the sequel was originally slated to release way back in 2014.  There’s no shock when one says ‘I waited for over a decade to watch the movie Avatar’s sequel’. Nonetheless, fans are not to be disappointed as at the end of the year their excruciating wait will finally come to an end.

PRODUCTION:

Avatar 2: The Way of Water is being produced by James Cameron with him being the director too. It is an upcoming American epic science fiction film also a sequel to Avatar released back in 2009. This movie is the epitome of Cameron’s Avatar franchise as it displays whether it upholds the integrity of the first sequel or crushes the hopes of the fans who have waited desperately for Avatar 2 to be released.

The Script has been written by none other than James Cameron the all-rounder himself and Josh Friedman who were acquainted by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Shane Salerno in the writing process of all the sequels but still the actual writing credits are still unclear for the audience.

In 2006 James Cameron had stated that he would only prefer to make sequels to Avatar 2 if it was successful in the cinemas, he had announced that the first two sequels were to be released in 2010 following the widespread success of the first film, The Way of Water to be released in 2014. The significant delays in the production of the film were seen because of the need to develop newer and better technology in order to film performance capture scenes underwater, a feat never accomplished before, and also because of the addition of more sequels in the first sequel and later on because of the pandemic from 2019 and onwards.
